Body and Mind Program

In-person program

We are excited to welcome back our in-person Body and Mind Program in Horsham and Stawell.

This calming therapeutic program helps you to understand and manage the impact of trauma on your body and mind, and develop physical, cognitive and emotional skills and strategies for increasing your self-awareness, calming your body and mind, and enhancing your day-to-day living.

The five-session program is for women who have experienced sexual assault and family violence, and men who have experienced sexual assault.

To register for this program, please phone (03) 5381 1211 and ask to speak with our intake staff.

Online program

This program offers a number of online video sessions designed for women and men who have experienced sexual assault and women who have experienced family violence.

Each of these sessions offer strategies that will assist with day to day living and enhance your resilience following trauma. Each video ‘stands alone’ and you are welcome to view these sessions in any order, and watch them as many times as you like.

Before watching any of the sessions, we encourage you to watch the introduction first, which provides an overview of the Body and Mind program and the steps to take in setting up prior to watching and participating in a session.

The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of the land we stand on. We are committed to working toward creating a community where all people indigenous and non-indigenous are safe, connected and empowered to live well. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre recognises the diverse needs of our community and we ensure our services are inclusive of all children, young people and their families including those who are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, those who identify as LGBTIQ and persons living with disability. We work collaboratively with people and partner organisations who also support our diverse client group. Interpreter and translator services are available to all our clients upon request.
