About The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre
We are a leading organisation offering a comprehensive suite of services to clients and the community across the Barwon, West Melbourne and Wimmera Regions. Providing specialist sexual assault and family violence programs and services, including 24 hour crisis care support, crisis accommodation, case management, therapeutic counselling, early intervention and professional education and training, we continue to grow and develop our offerings.
About The Role
The Aboriginal Engagement Worker supports Aboriginal victims of crime to access information, culturally safe and localised services and supports. the position provides secondary consultation to other VAP staff supporting Aboriginal victims of crime who have chosen to access mainstream services. The role will also be supported by the VAP agency, to work together with local ACCOs to build trust and engagement with local communities to address systemic barriers for Aboriginal victims’ participation in the criminal justice system. This position is full time and is located in either Geelong or Warrnambool, with travel across the Barwon and South West region.
This is an Aboriginal designated position, therefore only Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.
