Support The SAFV Centre by shopping at Myer Geelong this February

This February, the Geelong community can support the work of The Sexual Assault & Family Violence (SAFV) Centre, the Barwon area’s dedicated integrated support service, every time they shop at Myer Geelong.

For the entire month of February, Myer Geelong is running a Local Giving Month POS Round Up Campaign.  Customers shopping instore will have the opportunity to ‘round up’ their purchase to the nearest dollar, with the Myer Community Fund donating 100 per cent of funds raised at the Geelong store to The SAFV Centre.

Helen Bolton, CEO The SAFV Centre, said the support provided by Myer Geelong will help to highlight the impact of sexual assault and family violence within the community and raise awareness of the support services that are available to those impacted by violence.

“Last year, The SAFV Centre supported more than 3,600 people within the Barwon area who had been impacted by sexual assault and family violence.”

“The Myer Local Giving Campaign enables people to help make a difference in the lives of people impacted by sexual assault and women, children and young people impacted by family violence by doing something as simple as ‘rounding up’ their purchase,” she says.

“This support is invaluable to us in our work and we are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of the Myer Community Fund to our organisation.”

The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of the land we stand on. We are committed to working toward creating a community where all people indigenous and non-indigenous are safe, connected and empowered to live well. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre recognises the diverse needs of our community and we ensure our services are inclusive of all children, young people and their families including those who are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, those who identify as LGBTIQ and persons living with disability. We work collaboratively with people and partner organisations who also support our diverse client group. Interpreter and translator services are available to all our clients upon request.
