The SAFV Centre welcomes new CEO

After an extensive search, the Board of The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre (The SAFV Centre) is pleased to announce that Kerriann Campbell-Jones has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, commencing in early December.

Kerriann is a dynamic leader and accomplished executive with over 15 years of dedicated experience in the not-for-profit and social justice sector. Her unwavering commitment to cultivating strong partnerships and fostering collaborative initiatives is a testament to her deep-rooted passion for driving meaningful change within communities.

Kerriann joins The SAFV Centre following her role as Chief Operating Officer at Nunkuwarrin Yunti of South Australia, a contemporary culturally based health, social and emotional wellbeing service focused on building a healthy Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

“I am both honoured and grateful to step into the role of CEO at The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre. It is a privilege to lead such a dedicated, experienced, and highly skilled team. I believe deeply in the transformative power of collaboration and am committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is valued in our collective mission.”

“I’m committed to steering the organisation toward a future where every initiative reflects the values of inclusivity, resilience, and community empowerment. I look forward to continuing the work of the current experienced and specialised team and Board, ensuring that the voices of those served remain at the heart of every decision made.”

Renee Fiolet, Chair of The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre said the Board and staff are excited to work with Kerriann as we move forward under her leadership.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kerriann to the position of CEO, bringing with her a strong passion for social justice and advocacy.”

“The SAFV Centre has a long and proud history of responding to the needs of victim survivors, providing trauma-informed services while also advocating for change in government, justice systems and community attitudes, and stopping the violence before it begins. Kerriann’s values, advocacy and leadership align closely with the organisation’s vision and we look forward to welcoming her in December.”

Renee thanked Carmel Thomas, Interim CEO for her continued leadership of the organisation.

“The Board and I want to sincerely thank and acknowledge Carmel for her wonderful leadership and stability since stepping into the Interim CEO role in September this year.”

“Carmel has led our dedicated team throughout this time of transitional change with commitment and care, maintaining the momentum of our staff in the delivery of our services and programs across Barwon, Wimmera and the South West regions of Victoria.”

Carmel will continue as Interim CEO until the start of December before resuming her role as part of The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre’s executive leadership team.
