Geelong Giving Tree Appeal 2020

The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is a proud partner of the 2020 Geelong Giving Tree Appeal.

For the first time in 20 years, the Geelong Giving Tree Appeal is asking people to donate funds, not gifts, to keep everyone COVID safe.

The lead up to Christmas is proving tougher than ever for vulnerable families in our community. We need your help to raise $100,000 for disadvantaged families and individuals.

The appeal is the first of its kind in our region with The SAFV Centre partnering with Bethany and BCYF to have the biggest impact for our region’s families in need.

Collectively we have lined up the following events to help us fundraise with our community:

  • November 23-27 – “Giving Week” for schools, kindergartens, clubs and community groups
  • November 27 – “Geelong Night of Lights” (presented by City of Greater Geelong – 7pm-9pm)
  • November 28 – “Wish Upon a Song” (presented by Geelong Arts Centre – 7.30pm)
  • December 1 – “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas with the Geelong Giving Tree Appeal”  (presented by bay 93.9, on-air all day, 6am-7pm)

All funds raised will be allocated to children, young people and families via gift cards to enable the gift of Christmas presents, that they would otherwise struggle to afford.

We work collaboratively with people and partner organisations who also support our diverse client group. Interpreter and translator services are available to all our clients upon request.
